The human face is a repository for the history of our existence and has always been fascinating to artists. Throughout history paintings of the face show us that we have remained the same, we all feel the same and it shows on our faces and in our bodies.
When I was studying drawing I focused almost exclusively on figures, so it followed that when I was allowed to take up painting it would be figures.
